We have been making this lentil soup for longer than I can remember. Whenever there is any event, party or gathering of people, we always supply a large pot of this soup. Whether it is a summer birthday party or a winter warmer, it is the ideal soup.

Crab Pate
This is such an easy to make recipe with hardly any instructions. The quality of the finished paté will depend on the crab used.
Bruschetta
The classic Italian starter. Make the tomato mixture well in advance if you can and the flavours will mingle for a much tastier bruschetta. The bread can be toasted over the coals and the tomatoes added in front of your guests.
Roasted Pumpkin Soup
This is an absolutely delicious soup and ideal for serving to your guests for halloween or bonfire night. The chilli and cinnamon give a nice autumnal taste and you can adjust the quantities to suit your taste.
Ramen Broth
This simple to make chicken broth will lift your Ramen dishes with the Umami flavour so characteristic of good Ramen dishes. The secret is in the length of time the chicken is cooked in order to extract and intensify the flavour. I found it difficult to buy sake nearby so I substituted dry sherry instead.
Steak kebabs with garlic butter
Cooked properly this is a succulent, delicious recipe. Remember that the use of oil will cause the coals to flare up when you place the kebabs on the barbecue so be prepared to move them quickly to a safer place on the barbecue and then return them to the heat when appropriate.
Lamb Rogan Josh
There is nothing many of us like more than a visit to the local curry house. Much of the food there is cooked on coals, a traditional tandoor that gives its name to Tandoori Chicken for example uses coals to generate the great heat that cooks the meats. Nan breads are stuck to the side of the Tandoor to cook quickly.
