This is such an easy to make recipe with hardly any instructions. The quality of the finished paté will depend on the crab used.

Your guests will love this as a starter while waiting on the main course. To keep the outdoors feeling you can always toast some bread over the hot coals. If you are doing this make sure any lighter fluid you may have used is well burnt off so you don’t taint the flavour of the bread.

  • Meat from one large crab
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp dijon mustard
  • salt & pepper


  • simply combine everything in a food processor and blitz to a paste. Serve with melba toast or with canapes.
