Spicy onions

This is a version of the spicy onions served in Indian restaurants. They are delicious and an ideal accompaniment to any barbecue.

No cooking required
4 - 6 small portions


  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 tsp mild chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint, finely chopped
  • 3 tsp mango chutney
  • a squeeze of lemon juice
  • salt to taste


  1. Simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl and place in the fridge for at least an hour or even overnight to allow the flavours to develop
